Each Saturday of Living as Leaders, youth learn a leadership topic along with a life skills topic. Youth will also hear from someone for our physical activity portion called “We’re Moving.” Learn a little more about our group leaders from their bios below.
Chelsea is a Bowling Green native, and a graduate of the University of Missouri, with a bachelor’s degree in English, with plans to peruse her Masters in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration within the next year. She currently works for Western Kentucky University as the Master of Social Work and Field office associate. In her free time, she loves to watch sports and enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
Leah Harper is a senior at Western Kentucky University majoring in Social Work with a minor in Child Studies. She is most passionate about learning, teaching, traveling, and health. In the future, she hopes to become a school social worker and assist students and families in achieving academic, personal, and social/emotional goals.
Angelique Horace is the Assistant Director of Client Services for the Office of Family Safety. Angelique has over 10 years of professional experience working with community agencies serving youth, families, and trauma survivors. Angelique is passionate about strengthening communities through action and service.
Alicia L. Kirby
Alicia Kirby is a native of Bowling Green, KY currently living in Lexington, KY. Alicia attended Western Kentucky University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, a Master of Arts in Communications, a Graduate Certificate in Organizational Communication, and a Master of Arts in Leadership Dynamics. Currently, she is a Customer Relations Specialist working in the automotive industry. She is the proud mother of Tyshon Alexander.
Alicia is an active member of First Baptist Church Nicholasville, KY where she serves in the choir, as a Vacation Bible School teacher, and worker in the mission Gospel to Every Home by Jessamine County Baptist Churches.
Christina graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2017) and a Master’s of Sport Administration (2019). During undergrad, Christina worked in campus rec as a facility assistant, intramural ref, and personal trainer. While pursuing her Master’s, she was the Graduate Assistant of Fitness and Wellness Programming (over Personal Training) and started working as a group fitness instructor. Her passion for fitness as well as helping students to develop and grow led her to choosing to work in campus rec full time. Christina began as the Fitness Coordinator at WKU in August 2019 and looks forward to learning and growing within the department. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, trying new workouts, watching crime shows, and baking!
