The Harvest Festival provides a culminating event for Living as Leaders participates to have fun and learn. The Harvest Festival is coordinated with health and safety guidelines in mind, and youth safety first.
October 31, 2020 • 12:00pm – 1:30pm
Multiple locations at WKU
Open to Living as Leaders participants only
How will health and safety guidelines be followed?
The Harvest Festival capacity is currently set for 30 youth. Activities are being planned in multiple spaces broken up into smaller groups. We will limit group size per space and location to align with the amount allowed according to COVID-19 regulations on that date. For example, if sizes are restricted to 10 per group, we will plan for no more than 10 youth per group in that location.
When parents/guardians bring youth, they will be asked health screening questions, and we will also provide a temperature check.
Girls will be required to wear a face mask for the duration of their activity. Volunteers will be also required to wear a face mask.
Access to hand washing facilities and hand sanitizer will be available.
What kind of activities should girls expect?
All of the Harvest Festival activities are designed for fun with living as leaders in mind. We will have 2-3 guided activities along with some play and go activities. Girls can expect fun fall activities that include pumpkins, arts, crafts, games, and more.
What do girls need to bring to participate?
Parents will be asked to bring a signed copy of the Harvest Festival participation waiver. All girls will need to wear a face mask. Girls should also dress appropriately for the weather that day.
Can parents attend?
There will be areas for parents to wait for youth or check on youth throughout the event. In order to maintain small group sizes, we plan to keep group sizes limited to youth and the youth leader and/or volunteer.
What if it rains?
If it rains, the event will be held inside of Downing Student Union. Registered participants will receive the room details.
