Living as Leaders is pleased to welcome Pauletha Butts, NBCT, to our list of speakers for Living as Leaders fall 2020. 

Pauletha Butts serves as the Principal of Alvaton Elementary School. She joined Alvaton Elementary School, within the Warren County Public Schools District, in March 2020 as their new lead principal, prior to serving as the Assistant Principal for a little over 8 months. Before joining Alvaton, Butts taught Exceptional Education and co-taught reading and math in the general education classroom at Dishman-McGinnis Elementary within the Bowling Green Independent Schools District. With 12 years of experience in education, she is prepared to reach and help students grow as a school leader. She works tirelessly to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. 

Butts grew up in Bowling Green, KY and attended Potter Gray Elementary school within the Bowling Green Independent School District, graduating from Bowling Green High School. She attended the University of Louisville and went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University in Health Care Administration with a pre-pharmacy focus. She later went back to school to complete a master’s degree in Exceptional Education with a concentration in Learning and Behavioral Disorders, and a principal certification in School Administration from WKU. While also earning her principal certification, she also earned her National Board Certification in Teaching. Prior to earning this certification, she was also announced as the 2018 Kentucky Special Education Teacher of the Year. 

As she takes on new challenges and continues to meet new goals, she plans to work together in helping to accomplish the shared vision of becoming the leader in education where every child succeeds.
